In 2019, I was tasked with defining an interface for a new series of hybrid audio mixers. This was a flagship product, so the workflow and UI had to be dialed in to match.
What followed was tight integration with the engineering team and a whole lot of documentation.
Below are Some examples of task flows created for the main product features. From this, I also created a library of flowchart elements that could be reused in future projects, but I found these to be a too flashy and wound up simplifying them later on.
EXPLORING VISUAL DESIGN STYLES
Once the workflow was defined, I explored various UI concepts and garnered feedback from users and project stakeholders.
Additionally, I was able to validate concepts at true pixel scale using an Arduino-based prototype
PRODUCTION ASSETS
Once a concept was selected, I began producing pixel-perfect assets for the development team.
Below are excerpts from the extensive UI specification document I created for this project.
IN CONCLUSION…
This project was a success story about maintaining design intent from start to finish. It was one of the first UX/UI projects I completed at LOUD Audio, and it gave me a solid foundation for working with the development team there for future projects.
